Scope of this policy

This policy explains how Mega Taxi collects data from users of its ride-booking and delivery apps and website, how we use, protect, and share that data, and the choices available to access or correct data or delete an account and its associated data.

Data we collect

• Account and contact data: your name, phone number, email address, and profile picture.
• Location and trip data: device location, pickup and destination points, and trip route when location permission is granted.
• Service usage data: ride and delivery requests, trip history, ratings, and support requests.
• Device and app data: device type, operating system, notification token, and crash and security logs.
• Transaction data: transaction references and payment status. Payment providers may process card data under their own policies; we do not ask users to send card details through support.

How we use data

We use data to create and verify accounts, connect riders with drivers, calculate distance and fares, complete trips and payments, send service notifications, provide support, improve safety, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

Data sharing

We share only the minimum data needed with a rider or driver to complete the service and with hosting, maps, notifications, payment, communications, and support providers that process data on our behalf. We may disclose data when legally required or to protect users, safety, and rights. We do not sell personal data.

Data retention and security

We retain data for the life of the account and as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal requirements. After accepting a deletion request, we delete or de-identify data that does not need to be retained within 30 days. Encrypted backups may remain for up to 90 days, and financial or legal records may be retained for up to seven years where applicable requirements demand it.

Your rights and account deletion

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data from account settings in the app. Complete deletion steps are available on the account and data deletion page. You may also submit a request from the email address or phone number linked to your account using the contact details below. We will verify your identity before completing the request.

Children's privacy

The service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from a child below the permitted age. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided data to us.

Changes and contact
